抖阴短视频 has ties to six of nine films nominated for Best Picture Academy Awards
The University of North Carolina School of the Arts has connections to six of the nine films nominated for the Best Picture Oscar by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. In total, 抖阴短视频 has connections to eleven films that are nominated in various categories.
Lucas Hedges, who attended the School of Drama in 2015-16, is nominated for Best Supporting Actor for playing Patrick in 鈥淢anchester by the Sea,鈥 a film that received six nominations including Best Picture. Hedges is taking time off from school to work professionally. In addition to 鈥淢anchester by the Sea,鈥 he appears in the upcoming films 鈥淭hree Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri鈥 with Woody Harrelson and Peter Dinklage and 鈥淟ady Bird鈥 with Saoirse Ronan.

Current Drama student Christian Mallen appears as C.J., a friend of Patrick鈥檚, in 鈥淢anchester by the Sea,鈥 along with Drama alumnus Stephen McKinley Henderson 鈥72, who plays Mr. Emery.
Henderson also appears as Jim Bono in 鈥淔别苍肠别蝉,鈥 which is nominated for four awards, including Best Picture.
Alumni of the School of Filmmaking worked on four additional films that are nominated for Best Picture. They include:
鈥淟a La Land,鈥 which tied a record with 14 nominations: Michael A. Fry 鈥12 was assistant to the producers;
鈥淢辞辞苍濒颈驳丑迟,鈥&苍产蝉辫;with a total of eight nominations: Alex Bickel 鈥04 is digital intermediate colorist (editorial department), and Aaron Katz 鈥04 is thanked in the credits;
鈥淗acksaw Ridge,鈥 with a total of six nominations: Joey Poach 鈥12 is Executive/Development Assistant for David Permut, producer;
鈥淗idden Figures,鈥 with a total of three nominations: Nathan Krochmal 鈥14 is set designer.
Jeff Nichols directed 鈥淟oving,鈥 for which Ruth Negga is nominated for a Best Actress Academy Award.
In addition, Jeff Nichols, Film 鈥01, wrote and directed 鈥淟辞惫颈苍驳,鈥&苍产蝉辫;for which Ruth Negga was nominated as Best Actress. Film alumni who worked on 鈥淟辞惫颈苍驳鈥 include: Adam Stone 鈥99, cinematographer; Kenneth Neil Moore 鈥02, camera operator and director of photography second unit; Dylan Conrad 鈥10, first assistant camera; Joseph Blankinship 鈥14, Technocrane Technician; Matt 鈥淪mokey鈥 Cloud 鈥04, first assistant sound editor; and Will Files 鈥02, re-recording mixer and supervising sound editor. Michael Abbott Jr., Drama 鈥00 appears as a deputy.
Files also worked as sound re-recording mixer, sound designer and sound editor on 鈥淧补蝉蝉别苍驳别谤蝉,鈥&苍产蝉辫;which has two nominations. Justin Davey 鈥08 was sound effected editor, and Dylan Gravely was production secretary on 鈥淧补蝉蝉别苍驳别谤蝉.鈥
Kevin Hickman 鈥99 was first assistant editor on 鈥淪tar Wars Rogue One,鈥 which received one nomination, and was additional editor for 鈥淪uicide Squad,鈥 which was nominated once.
Drama alumna Missi Pyle 鈥95 appears as Ellen in 鈥淐aptain Fantastic,鈥 which received one nomination.
The Academy Awards will be presented Feb. 26.
