Student Government Association

��Ƶ’s Student Government Association (SGA) serves as an advocacy-centered governance model where the Student Body President and members of SGA focus their time and energy on observing, listening, and responding to student feedback, questions, and concerns. SGA continues to prove itself as a respected and reliable resource for the students of ��Ƶ.

SGA Executives serve as the primary student representatives on campus committees with staff, faculty, and executive leadership. They meet weekly as a team to discuss current student concerns, committee progress on various student services/concerns, and the results of their conversations with key leaders of ��Ƶ administration.

Trey Mazza

2025-26 Student Body President

Trey Mazza is a rising fourth-year Stage Manager in the School of Design & Production. He joined ��Ƶ’s Student Government in 2022 as an associate member before serving as the Executive Chair of Design & Production and the Student Body Vice President.With a strong commitment to student advocacy and leadership, Trey looks forward to collaborating with his team to implement essential, timely and impactful initiatives that enhance student experiences and address the challenges facing our community. He firmly believes in the power of our collective creativity and feels deeply honored to have the opportunity to lead his peers from this platform.

Hello! I’m a rising fourth year producing student from Lynchburg, Virginia. Last year, I was an SGA executive which gave me a ton of insight that I now get to utilize as Student Body Vice President. I have a big passion for the ��Ƶ community as I’ve also had the privilege of being the head teaching assistant for Summer Intensive. Being in the producing concentration, I’ve realized how much I enjoy collaborating as a team and being able to help the fellow students around me. I’m very excited to get to represent the School of Film and to serve the student body for the new school year!

I became motivated to support our school community through working with the Student Advantage Week program at ��Ƶ as a mentor for the past two years. I am very passionate about creating a safe space where art and creativity can thrive on campus. I am eager to advocate for the student body with the rest of the SGA team!

I am so excited to officially join SGA this year after learning the ropes from the team last semester! I am a Stage Management student from Nelson County, Virginia in the School of Design & Production. Last year, I was a SGA Associate and student ambassador for ��Ƶ. I love this school, and I'm thrilled to get the chance to enact positive change for our students through the executive position. Besides the aforementioned activities, I also enjoy reading, gardening, and exploring the area surrounding Winston, especially our local arts scene!

Hello hello! I am a rising second-year transfer student in the School of Design and Production with a concentration in Stage Management. In my free time, I’m often caught obsessing over technical theatre and giggling with my friends. This past year, I had the opportunity to serve as an SGA Associate, which provided me with valuable insights that I can utilize as an Executive. I am also a ��Ƶ Ambassador, which has helped me fall further in love with this community. I’m all about bringing people together and making ��Ƶ a campus where creativity crosses boundaries. I want everyone here to feel seen, supported, and excited to be part of this community. I am proud to represent the School of Design and Production in SGA, and excited to keep building a campus that’s connected, inclusive, and unapologetically bold.

Shelby Smith is a third-year drama major with a concentration in acting. Shelby is passionate about building a strong sense of community and creating an environment where students feel supported and valued during their time at ��Ƶ. She hopes that her time with SGA will help her to better understand the mental, emotional, and artistic needs of the campus so that students thrive in their academic careers and feel capable of fulfilling their highest potential.
