So, how did these songs make Serkin's list?
The ultimate inspiration: 鈥淢essiah鈥 performed by German Brass. 鈥German Brass is known for their brilliant sound and precision. They are a constant
inspiration to aspiring brass players and one of the most well-known, well-respected
brass ensembles.鈥
Jazzes things up: 鈥淕ive It One鈥 performed by The London Horn Sound. 鈥Who says that horn players can鈥檛 play jazz? The London Horn Sound is one of my favorite
horn ensembles鈥攖hey bring excitement to everything they play.鈥
Makes you want to groove: Astor Piazzolla's 鈥淟iber Tango鈥 performed by Imani Winds. 鈥This piece makes me want to dance (which is a bit difficult to do while playing horn). And, it
showcases the versatility of every instrument.鈥
Because, Leonard Cohen: 鈥淗allelujah鈥 performed by Genghis Barbie. 鈥This is a horn quartet arrangement of one of my all-time favorite songs. These four
horn players are outstanding and mimic the expression of the original work.鈥
Hits the high notes: 鈥淔or No One鈥 performed by The Beatles. 鈥I chose this song because it features the horn (as it should). I admire the soloist鈥檚
fantastic high range. It鈥檚 a tough horn lick!鈥 (.)
Coolest band name: 鈥淏uddy Holly鈥 performed by French Horn Rebellion. 鈥I recently discovered French Horn Rebellion. Naturally, the name of the band caught
my eye. This song doesn鈥檛 actually feature the horn, but I like their style because
it鈥檚 reminiscent of 80s pop music.鈥
