��������Ƶ Dance alumna Katherine LaNasa wins an Emmy Award

��������Ƶ School of Dance alumna Katherine LaNasa (High School Dance ’83) won an for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series for her performance as Charge Nurse Dana Evans in HBO’s “The Pitt,” which earned a total of five awards this year. LaNasa received her award during the 77th annual ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 14, which aired on CBS and Paramount+.

High School Visual Arts alumna Hunter Schafer was a presenter for the 2025 ceremony.

Twelve additional alumni from the schools of Dance, Design and Production (D&P), Drama, and Filmmaking were also nominated for Emmy Awards. They include:

• Tricia Barsamian (B.F.A. Design & Production ’04) was nominated for outstanding contemporary costumes for a limited or anthology series or movie for her work as assistant costume designer on Netflix’s “Sirens,” which received four nominations this year.
• Ryan Billia (High School Dance ’96) was nominated for outstanding sound editing for a nonfiction or reality program for his work as sound effects editor on HBO’s “Pee-wee As Himself,” which earned five nominations this year.
• Michael Brake (B.F.A. Filmmaking ’97) was nominated for outstanding sound editing for a comedy or drama series (half-hour) for his work as music editor on HBO’s “The Righteous Gemstones.” The series, which earned six nominations overall, was created by alumni Danny McBride (B.F.A. Filmmaking ’99), Jody Hill (B.F.A. Filmmaking ’99) and David Gordon Green (B.F.A. Filmmaking ’98).
• Ryan Collins (B.F.A. Filmmaking ’07) was nominated for outstanding sound mixing for a drama series (one hour) for his work as re-recording mixer on HBO’s “The White Lotus,” which received 23 nominations this year.
• Chris Ellison (B.F.A. Filmmaking ’15) was nominated for outstanding cinematography for a reality program for his work as a camera operator on the CBS series “Survivor.” The series earned four nominations this year.
• Charlotte Hayes Harrison (High School Visual Arts ’12) was nominated for outstanding production design for a variety special for her work as art director on NBC’s “SNL50: The Anniversary Special,” which earned 12 nominations overall.
• Tiffany Little Canfield (B.F.A. Drama ’00) was nominated for outstanding casting for a comedy series for Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building.” The series received seven nominations overall, including outstanding comedy series. She was also nominated for outstanding casting for a limited or anthology series or movie for Netflix’s “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” which earned 11 nominations total.
• Anthony Mackie (High School Drama ’97) was nominated for outstanding guest actor in a comedy series for his appearance as himself on Apple TV+’s “The Studio,” which received 23 nominations and was the third most-nominated program this year.
• Tanase Popa (B.F.A. Design & Production ’06) was nominated for outstanding limited or anthology series as co-executive producer of Netflix’s “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.”
• DeVoe Yates (B.F.A. Filmmaking ’98) was nominated for outstanding music supervision for his work on HBO’s “The Righteous Gemstones.”
• Zoë White (B.F.A. Filmmaking ’04) was nominated for outstanding cinematography for a nonfiction program for her work as director of photography on Netflix’s “Will & Harper,” which earned five nominations this year. 
• Craig Zobel (B.F.A. Filmmaking ’99) was nominated for outstanding drama series as an executive producer of HBO’s “The Penguin,” which received 24 nominations, making it the second most-nominated program this year.

In addition, other alumni from multiple disciplines contributed to several Emmy Award-winning and nominated productions.
